"Our neighbor and the US are friends, partners and allies. Leader Reagan knew that we are better united," the Ontario premier wrote alongside the Reagan clip. "God bless our nation and bless the United States."

The deterioration in relations reportedly stems from a one-minute television advertisement including President Reagan's broadcast stating that "tariffs hurt every American worker"
The President responded on his social platform without proof that Canadian officials had somehow run a "deceptive" and "false" commercial, and announced that "all trade negotiations with Canada are hereby terminated"
